We Say a Painful Goodbye to a Member of the DLP Family

Subscribe to us on iTunes HERE.

Last Sunday, at 5:50AM, we lost a member of the DLP family. Our friend Eugene passed away. He was only 30 years old.

Eugene helped us start this stupidass endeavor, by being one of the many hosts on the first episode of the Dropping Loads podcast and by appearing in tons of our videos. We owe our very identity to him. From our name to our Trucker Hat logo, it was all him.

If you listened or watched any of his appearances, you’d know that he had a  fantastic sense of humor. What you didn’t know was that he was one of the kindest people you will ever meet. He loved to make people laugh. and he loved to make people happy. In turn, he was loved and cherished by many.

He meant so much to us and we’ll miss him dearly.

A random shot that was taken of Eugene on the set of a sketch that was never finished.

Please take this moment with us to remember him:

The last episode that Eugene was on:

These are most of the videos he was in. Almost everything he was in, he elevated to some extent by improvising lines that brought the house down or just acting out a scene in a way that we never thought of. My personal favorite is HipsterWay, because all of his dialogue as a hipster was improvised, putting his great sense of humor on full display.

Though I only knew him for a few years, the rest of the DLP family has known him for over 10-15 years, being a part of half their lives. Therefore, as a family, we’re going to take a brief hiatus from the podcast to mourn his loss. We don’t yet know when we’ll be back, but we will. Please give us some time.

The YouTube schedule will continue as usual because those are filmed far in advance, whereas the podcast is recorded on a weekly basis.

Thank you for listening and watching all these years.

We’ll miss you, Eugene.
